Much like humans, pets have different health care needs. Some may require only the basics, while others may have special needs and require more frequent care. We will customize a plan for your pet based on their life stage and health status. Preventive care will help extend their healthy, happy years. The Blue Door mobile unit is equipped to provide:
- Comprehensive physical exams
- Vaccines
- Microchipping
- Wellness lab work – fecal examination, blood work, etc.
- Life stage targeted wellness and education
New Pets
Do you have a new addition to your family? Young or old, we would like to see your new friend within the first week of their arrival so we can do a nose to tail exam. It’s a great time to talk about your pet’s training, nutrition, safety, health maintenance, and more!
Adult Pets
For healthy, adult pets, we recommend a minimum of twice-yearly visits for physical exams, vaccinations, parasite exams, and blood work to stay on top of any changes. Even if they seem healthy to you, it is still important to have us out for a visit so we can establish a healthy baseline to compare to in the future.
Senior Pets
Depending on a pet’s breed and size, they may reach their senior years at different times, though most pets are considered a senior around 7 or 8 years of age. We can counsel you on health and nutrition changes your pet may require to help them age as gracefully and healthfully as possible.
A Note About Feline Patients
Feline patients may be more comfortable meeting us inside the house before being transferred to the mobile unit for their treatment. The veterinary team at Blue Door Veterinary Services can then assist you in transporting your cat to the clinic to keep everyone’s stress level as low as possible.
