Are you tired of seeing appointments every 15 minutes and not having a chance to complete your thoughts about a case before moving on to the next one? We can help!
We are looking for a self-motivated veterinarian with experience, though confident newer grads are welcome to apply. We love new ideas and energy! Clinic owner will ride along until you're comfortable, then let you be your own doctor - no micromanaging your cases - but you'll always have a phone-a-friend option if you need it!
Expected schedule is 4 days a week (Mon-Sat - approx 9am-7pm) - flexible on which days per week- though we will stay closed on Sundays. NO ON-CALL! Open to creative scheduling if needed (ie short week then long weeks alternating, 5 shorter days, etc). Our goal is to expand to multiple mobile veterinary clinics and into Vancouver, WA over the next few years, and we are looking for a veterinarian who wants to operate their own mobile unit as we grow. Starting salary range is $85-95k depending on experience and benefits with annual reevaluation of salary in light of production to make sure you're getting paid what you're worth! Student loan repayment option available after first year as well. Blue Door Veterinary Services is a locally owned, strictly mobile veterinary practice servicing the greater Portland, OR metropolitan area. If you are a veterinarian interested in the mobile model who is looking to work full-time and have the potential to grow into a fully stocked mobile veterinary unit of your own, then we are the practice for you! We practice high quality, full-service veterinary care for predominately small animals but have been seeing more pet chickens and goats over the last year as well. There are options to see other exotics or offer complimentary medicine as well depending on your interest.
Our current mobile veterinary clinic is a 26’ long vehicle with all the general practice bells and whistles. We have paperless records, on-board Abaxis blood machines (CBC and Chemistry), a digital x-ray system, digital dental x-rays and a separate surgery suite inside the truck with isoflurane anesthesia in addition to a modest pharmacy, vaccinations and treatments options for our daily sick and preventative care appointments. We have the ability to coordinate with a mobile ultrasound service to meet at client homes for ultrasounds when needed, and we also work well with several ERs and referral surgical centers around the city for the very ill or advanced surgical cases. I'm also open to adding new gadgets/technologies to the practice if it can help our patients out!
We have a full-time client coordinator who answers phone calls and emails and schedules appointments so you only have to work on the patients you are seeing and do individual case follow-ups when needed. You also get a dedicated tech/assistant each day on the truck with you - no trying to wrestle with animals or draw blood by yourself! Our clientele is made up of pet owners who are dedicated to their pets and want to be involved in their pets' care. We pride ourselves as a clinic in being transparent and complete with regards to all options for our patients and working as a team with our clients for the best outcome for their animals.
